Similarly to last semester, I find my blog a sad victim of neglect. With the push of midterms, grading, and four weekends in a row of visitors, roadtrips, and travels, I am now seriously behind in my posts. So, rather than gloss over the past few weeks, I’m going to write some “seenadena” IOUs, in hopes that this mini post will tie over all you loyal readers. And I promise it will soon be pushed down the page by eloquent and detailed accounts of all these adventures…
IOU: Fourth of July in Kalasin: Eight farang teachers venture out to Kalasin for the first time to experience what “Independent Day” looks like in Isaan.
IOU: Chaiyaphum Excursion: Reuven, Charlotte, and I set out on our first Thai roadtrip with Palmy and her family to see the majestic Siam Tulips which only bloom in one area of Isaan for two months each year.
IOU: Floating Market Weekend: What do you get when you mix 7 farang teachers, 2 chinese, 2 japanese, 10 thai teachers, 2 vans, and three floating markets? Answer: The ultimate thai roadtrip!
IOU: Phuket aka Spring Break 2010: The remaining members of the CIEE crew head down to Jenny’s gorgeous house in the mountains of Phuket in search of relaxation, real home cooking, and a celebration of the end of midterm grading.
